  • How should the Aftermarket respond to OEM patent lawsuits?

https://static.ombe.com/slir/w240/forums/200/rickpics/Canon_Case.png The recent Canon filing with the International Trade Commission in the US has put Aftermarket manufacturers of printer cartridges into a spin. To help the Aftermarket tackle the challenge of the OEMs’ patent lawsuits, Recycling Times Media (RT Media) invited Tricia Judge and Merritt Blakeslee to discuss the Canon Dongle Gear Case in the summit during its RT Imaging Summit & Expo—Americas 2018 on May 24-25 in Cancun, Mexico.

Why does the Aftermarket need to be careful? How can you continue to operate legally in the printer consumables Aftermarket in the wake of the litigation recently filed by Canon at the US ITC and in the federal district courts? With their rich experiences in the imaging industry, Tricia Judge and Merritt Blakeslee will refresh your mind and offer suggestions for your business in the summit's speeches and panel discussion.

Merritt Blakeslee is a specialist in patent litigation at the U.S. International Trade Commission and practices in international trade and intellectual property law. He will share his thoughts about the latest Canon case from a legal perspective. Tricia Judge is the Executive Director at the International Imaging Technology Council and is an experienced lawyer and industry advocate . She is licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, and has supported the Aftermarket in several lawsuits. Both have been keeping a close watch on the Canon Dongle Gear Case and will update the Aftermarket at the Cancun summit.
