"Since the early 1990s, Impression Products
has bought used printer cartridges, refurbished and filled them with ink, and resold them to offices across West Virginia — keeping oiled, in its own small way, the machinery of commerce in the Mountain State. Founded in 1979 in Charleston as a dealer in typewriter ribbons, Impression is the sort of twentieth century Main Street business that could have found itself grievously disrupted by the Information Age. Instead, it quickly adapted to the changing technology, embracing first dot matrix printers and then laser jets.
